NZ- Part 101 Pilot Certificate Refresher Course

This course is for drone pilots who have previously completed a Drone Trust 101 training course, and need to renew their certificate. The course incorporates theory revision and practical flight assessment. Conducted by Flight Test NZ.

This refresher course consists of a mix of reading and watching short videos. Throughout the course, there are short quizzes. These will help you to be sure you have absorbed the information presented. You can go back and review the content at any time. You may repeat any quiz as many times as you’d like.

At the end of this course, you will be asked to take an exam covering all of the information presented. You must achieve a score of 80% or better to pass this exam.

In addition to this exam you will be required to complete a practical flight assessment refresher with a certified RPAS Flight Examiner.  The Flight Examiner will ask a number of oral questions during the practical assessment to test your understanding of the content included in this course.

Lesson 10 will refresh you on the skills you are required to demonstrate during your practical flight assessment. After you successfully complete your flight assessment you will receive your new Drone Trust 101 RPAS Pilot Certificate.

Flight Test NZ is a CAA certified Part 141 aviation training organisation TR52489 and operates this course for Drone Trust.  This course has been accepted by the CAA as meeting the requirements under CAR Part 101.12 and 101.205 (3) for refresher training of airspace knowledge and continued RPAS operations within 4 km of an aerodrome or heliport.
